Digital transformation: case study and insights

In this episode, Mark Spry, Group Executive, Greater Bank will share the work they have done over the past few years to digitally transform. He will also shed insights on their journey to cloud, the importance of digital banking, and how technology is enabling them to remain Australia's most trustworthy bank. Mark Zanon, Managing Director, Capital Consult will also share how they supported Greater Bank in managing their regulatory obligations with APRA while they embark on their cloud transformation journey. We will also be joined by Damien Mair, CEO & Co-founder, Fusion, sharing the key trends in digital banking, what tactics are banks adopting to deliver exceptional customer experiences through digital channels and how Fusion is helping to bring these features to life with their clients. This session will be hosted by Paul Apology, General Manager for ANZ, Mambu.

In this episode, David Fodor, Head of Business Development - Financial Services in Australia and New Zealand from Amazon Web Services, Steven Bolland, Banking Lead from 4impact and Myles Bertrand, Managing Director for Asia Pacific from Mambu share their views and insights on the transformation journey that banks have to take in order to evolve and innovate. A deep dive into the new way of working, technology requirements, how to transit to the cloud with minimal risks as well as understanding the compliance regulations. Behind the scenes of composable banking: Demo session

In this episode, we will take you through an overview of Mambu’s composable banking platform together with our partners - Ranqx, 4impact and Fusion. We will show you how easy it is to launch a lending ecosystem, Quick Capital, within weeks instead of months. Steve Bolland from 4impact, will share a summary of the architecture build and ease of integrations, followed by Dave Lewis from Ranqx, who will run through the Quick Capital origination workflow including customer onboarding, call to Xero for accounting data, the smart intelligence in decisioning and high level product summary. Perminder Grewal, Mambu’s Regional Solutions Engineering Manager will show you the client and loan that was automatically created in Mambu and lastly, Damien Mair from Fusion will also show you how to build straight through processing in servicing with a modern cloud banking platform.

Myles Bertrand

Managing Director APAC, Mambu

Myles has been building and enhancing financial technology businesses in APAC for over 20 years. He is an experienced senior leader with a broad range of experience and skills including business development, customer relationship management, product management and risk management. Myles has over 20 years of experience in software solutions with key strengths in payments and transaction banking. Myles has a proven capability to deliver improved customer outcomes through developing product and customer focused solutions. He has worked across several industries, including banking, retail, wealth, insurance, telecommunications and sport.

David Fodor

Head of Business Development - Financial Services in Australia and New Zealand, Amazon Web Services

For the past 25 years David has worked within the Financial Services industry both domestically and in the UK, accumulating a diverse skill-set transcending the banking value chain. David has led large onshore and offshore operational teams spanning Product Management, Finance, Risk, Procurement and HR operations. David spent the last five years of his tenure in Banking driving Technology Transformation agendas focused on core banking and analytic platforms. He joined the Amazon Web Services Business Development team in 2017 as the FSI lead for Australia and New Zealand.

Ashleigh McManus

Partner Manager ANZ, Mambu

Ashleigh has been working in Financial Technology over the past five years both in Asia and domestically. Prior to joining the Mambu team, Ashleigh was the Head of FinTech for Basiq where he worked with some of the most innovative Australian FinTechs looking to disrupt traditional business models through Open Banking. He joined Mambu at the start of 2021 to manage its ANZ partnerships ecosystem.

Erik Fenna

GM, Technology Transformation, P&N Group

Erik has focused his career on integrating systems across a broad spectrum of business services from email to two-way radio to banks. He was the CEO of LIXI, the Australian standards organisation for data messaging for lending, and is now the GM of Technology Transformation at the P&N Group, a small but influential mutual bank based in Perth. P&N is currently re-inventing the way the bank interacts with customers through both the human and direct-to-consumer channels, and technology plays a critical role at the leading edge of that change.

Paul Apolony

General Manager ANZ, Mambu

Paul is Mambu's General Manager, Australia & New Zealand, having joined the business in July 2021 as a Senior banking Consultant. Prior to joinging Mambu, Paul held a senior executive position as Managing Director, Head of Group Operations - Oceania for MUFG Bank, Ltd, a part of Japan's largest financial group, MUFG. Paul has had an extensive career in the banking industry, previously having held senior positions in Macquarie Bank and actively involved in wider industry intiatives.

Mark Spry

Group Executive of Transformation, Greater Bank

Mark Spry is Group Executive of Transformation for Greater Bank. A seasoned executive who joined Greater in 2017, Mark likes to move fast, optimise outcomes and tackle game-changing projects. With a wealth of experience that includes previous roles as NAB’s Head of Technology, Superannuation and Investment Platforms and CEO at Pulse Mining Systems, Mark is currently leading the digital transformation project at Greater – driving the most comprehensive business case ever undertaken in terms of size, risk and value for the organisation. He is passionate about building high-performing teams, building culture and leadership, and ultimately offering the best solutions and experience for Greater’s customers.

Mark Zanon

Managing Director, Capital Consult

Mark Zanon is the managing director of Capital Consult who specialise assisting FSIs through the APRA regulatory framework. He has over 20 years in-house executive and consulting roles in financial services technology and risk. Since 2008 Mark has been working with FSIs on aspects of their APRA compliance. His specialist area of expertise is in assisting FSIs through their IT outsource including cloud risk and compliance requirements to meet the APRA regulatory framework. He deals directly with APRA, with and on behalf of FSIs.

Damien Mair

CEO & Co-founder, Fusion

1st computer (Cosmac VIP), had a graphics resolution of 128x 64 pixels. A lesson in leveraging less to make more. Learnt HTML in Netscape Navigator 1.0. Was stoked when a tag was released to allow changing the background colour of a website. From playing a part in Web 1.0. Web 2.0, and the mobile revolution, is passionate about helping financial institutions Web 3.0 their business. Defined Fusion’s purpose to ‘create experiences people love’ years before UX, CX, MX and EX were a thing. Strongly believes digital is never done. Natalie Drummond is the Global Head of Customer Success Management at Mambu. She has worked exclusively in customer facing roles over her 20 year career in Finance & Technology. Mark Perry is an experienced technologist in identity security and the CDR. He has 30+ years of experience in enterprise technology projects in finance and other regulated industries. Mark has been involved in the CDR since October 2017 and was a member of the Data Standards Body advisory committee from 2018–2020. As Chief Customer Officer at Biza, Mark is a trusted adviser to Biza’s clients to help them meet their CDR objectives. Formerly APJ CTO of Ping Identity, Mark’s expertise is in Identity and Access Management and he is a noted speaker at industry events in Australia and overseas.

Melcar McCaig

Melcar McCaig is a fintech enthusiast passionate about technology and how it helps consumers and businesses realise their goals. Have been working in the fintech industry for over 12 years delivering high value products and working side by side with high performing technology and product teams. Most recently lead the successful delivery of Tyro's Open Banking Data Holder milestone making Tyro one of the early adopters of CDR Consumer Data Sharing.

Laura Hill

Laura is Account Executive for ANZ at Mambu. As part of Mambu’s pre-sales team, she works with prospective ANZ clients to solution for their current and future core banking requirements, with Mambu’s leading core banking platform. Laura has more than 8 years sales experience at leading SaaS companies, with the goal of ensuring customers digital and transformation aspirations are met with best-in-breed technologies.

Perminder Grewal

Regional Solutions Engineering Manager APAC, Mambu

Perminder Grewal is the Regional Solution Engineering Manager for the APAC region at Mambu and is based in Perth, Australia. She leads a team of Solution Consultants and Architects to guide prospects and clients on how Mambu can help them. Perminder is experienced in supporting the banking sector with critical processing services including core banking and payments across Asia Pacific.
