In some cases, debit card transactions often settle for an amount that is different from the authorised amount and until now, whenever there was a difference between a debit transaction and the authorisation hold amount, the difference was calculated using a workaround, then making a call to the Mambu Cards API to either increase or decrease the hold amount.
With this new feature in our Cards API, the original amount of a debit authorisation hold can be replaced with the new amount when executing a PATCH update, eliminating the need for workarounds.
This feature is especially useful for use cases such as the Automated Fuel Dispenser (AFD) that require an initial hold on the account for a default amount. Once a customer has completed refuelling, the original authorisation hold is adjusted to reflect the actual amount of the transaction.
