The challenge
Keeping payments as the core to the policyholder experience
Payments are central to Garantme’s activities, and the successful management of claims and disbursements are viewed as key to demonstrating its value to policyholders. Beyond the speed of a payout, policyholders expect a clear, transparent claims process with detailed tracking from the moment a claim is opened until the funds reach the beneficiary.
A major complexity of the claim disbursement process was that numerous manual steps took place before a payout could be initiated. As Garantme grew, the number of policyholders and claims increased, and this workflow became unscalable and prone to errors.
Garantme also needed to offer a consistent experience to its partners. The company distributes its insurance products through partner real estate agencies, whose accountants and managers require real-time visibility of payment flows to accurately close their books and effectively manage customer relationships.

To provide a better experience for its policyholders and real estate partners and to optimise internal operations, Garantme chose Mambu Payments as its payment operations solution and deeply integrated the platform with its back-office system using Mambu Payments’ APIs and webhooks.
The platform integrated seamlessly with Garantme’s existing partner bank, allowing the company to build a robust claim payouts workflow addressing its key complexities, and resolving the issues it faced with its manual workflow.

Saving 60 hours per month to Garantme's finance and operations
With the successful integration of Mambu Payments, Garantme achieved:
- Automated workflow: Once a claim is validated, a payment order is automatically generated. The operations team can then validate and approve the payment details before the payment is automatically sent to the bank each evening.
- Real-time tracking: Mambu Payments automatically retrieves and updates payment statuses after the bank processes the payments. The Garantme team can then see if a payout was successful and if any errors need to be fixed. This information is also displayed in the dedicated interfaces for real estate agents, operations, and policyholders.
- Automated reconciliations: Mambu Payments automates claim payout reconciliations, eliminating the need for Garantme’s finance team to manually record payment statuses in its accounting tool.

Looking ahead, Garantme plans to expand the use cases it covers for real estate agents by enabling them to collect rent payments through the Garantme platform.
It also plans to expand the scope of Mambu Payments to more payment flows, starting with account payable payments and replacing part of their treasury management system.
