Rabbit Cash
About the customer
Founded in April 2021, Rabbit Cash is a Bangkok-based digital lender operating under the supervision of the Bank of Thailand (BOT). The company was established as a strategic joint venture between BSS Holdings, part of the BTS Group, AEON Thana Sinsap and Humanica, with a shared ambition to improve access to fair, transparent and convenient digital lending across Thailand.

Built around its “Money Rabbolution” concept, Rabbit Cash focuses on serving segments often overlooked by traditional lenders, including freelancers, online merchants, small business operators and salaried employees without conventional proof of income.

With 2,900 million THB in registered capital and access to the wider ecosystems of its parent companies, spanning transportation, financial services and HR technology, Rabbit Cash has been able to scale rapidly while embedding lending access into channels consumers already use daily.
The challenge

Growth pains in a booming market
Rabbit Cash identified a major gap in the Thai lending market. Many consumers with irregular or non-traditional income streams struggled to access financing through conventional banking channels.

To address this opportunity and serve these segments, Rabbit Cash sought a cloud-native core banking platform capable of supporting rapid loan product innovation, from fixed instalments to highly flexible revolving credit lines.

The technical requirements for the new platform were very specific to the Thai market.
Rabbit Cash needed a system that could emulate credit card lifecycles, support complex regulatory requirements like freezing accounts during BOT-mandated crisis relief periods (such as flood relief) without impacting National Credit Bureau (NCB) reporting, and offer dynamic, promotional interest rates to stay competitive.

The company also wanted to move away from rigid, monolithic architectures that would limit its ability to scale and launch new digital lending propositions at speed.
“We see a pain point of Thais suffering from high household debt and steep shark loan interest rates but we also see an opportunity that Thais have high adoption of mobile banking and digital usage.”

- Ms. Ratchanee Saensinchai, CEO of Rabbit Cash

The solution

Composable future with Mambu

Rabbit Cash partnered with Mambu in 2021, selecting its lending engine as the foundation for its digital lending ecosystem.
Using Mambu’s API-first architecture, RESTful APIs and Webhooks, Rabbit Cash built a modern technology stack designed around flexibility and speed. Rather than relying on a single monolithic platform, Rabbit Cash was able to connect external microservices and partner systems into a composable architecture tailored to local operational and regulatory requirements. This flexibility enabled Rabbit Cash to manage complex loan lifecycles while rapidly adapting products and promotional structures to changing market conditions.

The cloud-native architecture, underpinned by Amazon Web Services (AWS), also allowed Rabbit Cash to automate significant parts of the lending process. By integrating digital bank statements and alternative customer data into its workflows, the company was able to remove traditional barriers such as guarantor requirements and manual approval processes.

Through Mambu, Rabbit Cash created a fully digital lending experience accessible through its mobile application, enabling customers to apply for financing, access revolving credit and manage repayments digitally.
The result
Expanding financial access through innovation
Following a successful soft launch in 2022, Rabbit Cash officially rolled out its Mass Nano lending products to the Thai market in early 2023. Today, powered by Mambu, the company offers three distinct digital lending products designed around different consumer borrowing and repayment needs.
  • Nano Loans: flexible Repayment Loan revolving credit lines of up to 100,000 THB.
  • Nano Loans - Instalment (เงินก้อนพร้อมใช้): fixed instalment loans with repayment terms between 6 and 36 months
  • Welfare Loan: for organizations with an MOU with Rabbit Cash. Employee lending products offered with special interest rates 15% per year.
The success of the collaboration led Rabbit Cash to renew its partnership with Mambu in 2026, extending the relationship for further 4 years.

Looking ahead, Rabbit Cash plans to continue expanding its digital lending footprint and exploring additional financial products designed to increase access to capital for underserved Thai consumers.
“Mambu’s flexible cloud-native architecture has enabled us to build lending products that match the realities of how modern consumers manage their finances.”
